Learn How to Choose a Bank

There are many options today. With little documentation and little running, you can find the bank that fits your finances.

Here's how:

1. Choose a bank that is good for your daily activities. Search banks that are easily accessible, you can found on your way to work or when you have to do several payments.

2. Check the websites at several banks. There you can learn something about the types of accounts, available services and interest rates offered, long before entering the bank.

3. Think about what is most important for you when choosing a bank. If you want to put up a personal relationship, on a long term, it is possible that a small bank is better for you. If you travel a lot and need branches in other countries, it is recommended to choose the larger banks, international.

4. Think about what kind of transactions you make. If you want to make online transactions through ATM 's, then choose the bank offering these
services.

5. Visit the branch where you will place the most of your activity. The staff is professional and friendly? Working hours are compatible with your
schedule?

6. Compare interest rates and fees charged for services and make sure you make the best choice.

Tips

* Ask friends and family to recommend a bank.

* Many banks will use the combined balance of all your accounts (checks, savings, money market, etc..) When calculating the fee for service, so you should move all accounts at one bank.

* Choose a virtual bank. All transactions are made online or by mail and commissions services, if any, will be minimal.

Thailand - One of the Best & Cheapest Places to Live and Travel in the World

If there's a place in the world where you can get the greatest clothes at the cheapest price that would be -- Thailand! Similar to China, Thailand offers a lot of great cuisines and a host of other things one can enjoy. Beaches are located almost everywhere.

Tourists and locals alike can enjoy diving and para sailing at a price relatively cheaper than its neighboring Asian countries. Since the climate in Thailand doesn't change very much, it is an ideal place to stay.

During summer months, March to June, most people will either go for the beach or go temple-tripping. While it's ok to wear sleeveless and shorts in other countries on a hot summer, in Thailand, it is generally considered inappropriate especially for women. It's ok to use sandals though since it is required for both locals and tourists to remove them when they visit the temple and view it from the inside.

The main religion of Thais is Buddhism. As you may know, there are a lot of temples or wats as they would call it are ornately decorated. There are also such things as spirit houses. In Thailand, each house has a spirit which guards that house. One exceptionally famous shrine is Erawan Shrine, which was previously an execution site.

In terms of art and designs, Thai art closely resembles those of India and its neighboring countries. Their art usually involve religion, music and dancing. In sports muay Thai, more commonly known as Thai boxing, is their king. Thai boxing is actually a kind of marital art which sprung from Thailand's ancient warriors.

Thailand provides its people with an excellent value for money. With low labor costs, and a weak currency, foreigners and locals can enjoy available products and services at the least and most affordable cost. Popular tourist destinations, like Phuket and Ko Samui, though will have a slightly higher price than other locales. But with a budget of 800 baht, which is about $24 USD, one may already actually have enough for three meals, a dorm and transportation.

In terms of shopping, the skill one must know when one goes to night markets in Bangkok is the art of haggling. Whether it be Thai silk you are after, or the intricately woven clothing, or the smallest handicrafts that would fit nicely in your bedroom, you will most likely be succeed in getting the best price if you're patient enough to haggle.

Finding a job in Thailand is generally harder for foreigners, but knowing diving and English are a major plus. Thailand is currently in demand of diving instructors and English teachers since English is also being used as a form of formal instruction in most Thai schools.

Being a tropical country, Thailand also has its share of diseases one should watch out for like malaria and dengue. It is also uncommon to get HIV or AIDS. It's good to know that it's easy to get condoms though when one needs it.

Phuket Island - Popular Travel Destination in Thailand

Phuket has grown into one of the premier holiday destinations in South East Asia and is one of the busiest travel destinations of Thailand. It has replaced Bali as the most popular holiday island in the region.

What makes Phuket island such a great travel destination?

Phuket is first of all an inexpensive holiday destination. Phuket hotels, resorts and guesthouses can be found in all price categories and ratings and prices are considerably cheaper then what one would encounter in Europe or America.

Dining in restaurants or buying drinks in bars or clubs on Phuket is also less expensive then what most tourists are used to paying back in their home countries.

Phuket Beaches

The palm tree lined beaches of Phuket Island are of course world famous due to its crystal white sand and clear water of the Andaman Sea. Some of the nicest and most popular beaches found on Phuket Island are the beaches at Patong, Kamala, Karon, Kata and Nai Harn.

Phuket Nightlife

The Phuket nightlife is another reason why many tourists visit Phuket each year on holiday. Many tourists seem to keep coming back each year for especially the nightlife and bars of Phuket.

Most Phuket island nightlife venues can be found in Patong beach along the well known Soi Bangla. A number of large clubs are located along Bangla road in Patong including the very popular Tiger disco and the new Seduction Disco.

You can also find along Bangla road and the many small streets leading into Soi Bangla hundreds of beer bars. Each beer bar has a number of beautiful Thai ladies working for them who there to please the clients.

Phuket Shopping

Going shopping in Phuket in the past was not one of the most interesting activities for tourists due to the lack of a good variety of shops and products. Most of the shops sold the same tailor made clothing, bootleg movies and software and fake designer clothing.

Over the last few years however, a number of large shopping malls have opened on Phuket housing well known international retailers, unique local boutiques as well as international restaurant outlets such as Outback steakhouse and Burger King.

If you are going to visit Phuket for a holiday then please make sure to visit the brand new Phuket Junkceylon mall in Patong or the Central Carnival Mall along the Phuket by-pass road.

Winter Blues? It's Nothing A Luxury Spa Break In Thailand Can't Cure

Whilst the UK's unpredictable weather is as much a part of its identity as fish and chips, it can cause many people to feel down and depressed when the dark, winter months kick in.

But in the summer months, many parts of the UK actually experience perfectly good weather and extended periods of sunshine. So, why do so many people choose to holiday abroad at a time when the UK weather really isn't all that bad?

Well, this is why many people are now deciding to take winter holidays instead, with over a quarter of people now taking their main holiday between October and the end of the year. Not only is it, in general, an easier period to get time off work, it's normally cheaper too and it provides two weeks of respite from the gloomy British winter. And as it is a cheaper time of year to travel, this means that more emphasis can be placed on 'lavish' rather than 'budget', with a luxury spa holiday providing the perfect remedy to beat the winter blues.

Thailand, for example, is a popular destination for winter sun and not just for a simple beach holiday either. There are many luxury destinations available within Thailand, be it a Phuket spa holiday resort or a Koh Samui spa holiday resort.

Indeed, a luxury Thailand spa holiday [http://www.kuoni.co.uk/holiday/Far_East/Thailand/index.html] can be found to suit most requirements. For example, many people choose to travel to Thailand for the superb diving on offer and it's possible to narrow the search by features such as on-site dive schools or even the availability of water sports, ensuring the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.

But what makes Thailand a real 5 star holiday destination is the ability to combine a luxury spa holiday with a true cultural holiday experience. When not unwinding or being pampered, there are golden temples, busy markets, excellent food, mountain scenery and a plethora of glorious beaches to explore. Furthermore, the one aspect of Thai culture that ensures so many people return year after year is the warmth and friendliness of the local people. And this is what makes Thailand truly stand out from other destinations in the world.

So, with the nights drawing in, many people choose to take their main holiday later in the year. And as it's generally cheaper to travel 'off-season', that luxury spa holiday in Thailand may be just the thing to ease those winter blues.

Thailand Has More to Offer Than You Think

It is hard to imagine anyone getting bored in Thailand; there is just no excuse for it. No matter what type of holiday you prefer you will find something in this land that was once called Siam. Most holiday makers make their way south to the island. If the idea of lounging around on tropical beaches is exactly what you expect from a holiday then this is where you will want to go. Thailand attracts many visitors, but it is still possible to find some stunning isolated beaches. On most of the islands you will also find accommodation to suit every budget.

Backpackers like to stay on islands like Koh Pan Ngan or Koh Lanta, because here you will find the cheapest accommodation. Koh Pan Ngan is the scene of the Full Moon Party and if dancing the night away is your idea of heaven then this will be the island to visit. If you have a bit more money to spend then you might like to visit Koh Samui or Phuket. Here you will find some real high class hotels, but you can also find reasonable deals as well. All of these places will have wonderful beaches where you will be able to work on your tan.

If you want to have the best possible night life in Thailand then goes to Pattaya; this is not called sin city for no reason. First timers to this part of Thailand can be quite shocked by full-throttle hedonism that exists in a place like this, but Pattaya is also increasingly becoming a place for family holidays as well. Some of the best resorts and hotels can be found in this area, and you will also get the best in western dining; there is no reason to ever get homesick in this city. Pattaya is the sort of place that you will either love or hate; many visitors love this part of Thailand so much that they would never consider going anywhere else.

If you would like more of an adventure holiday then you should head up north the Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai. This is a great area for trekking and visiting the local hill tribes. If you love bookstores then you will love Chiang Mai. This is also a great city for doing courses like massage, Thai cooking, Thai language, or even yoga. This northern part of the country differs a lot from the south and tends to attract a different crowd. If you wish to travel up to the mountains then a real treat will be Pai; this has become a real backpacker's hangout.

Many visitors use Thailand as a base while they explore other parts of the region such as; Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, or Burma/Myanmar. It is the most modern country in the area and it offers a level of luxury that is just not possible in these other countries. Many visitors do a circular tour of South East Asia that starts and finishes in Thailand; this can be a great way of doing it but you will need at least few months if you want to see even some of what is on offer.

Explore the Wondrous Underwater World With Scuba Diving

The word scuba diving drives thoughts in our mind that change our definition of normal. It is an out of the world experience. Most of the people of this world might have never seen the underwater world in reality. It is truly a world by itself, but only those who take up the challenge of scuba diving can see for themselves how glorifying it seems. This sport, however, is not as tough as getting floatplane rating or float rating, but it is definitely a mind boggling experience. At times, it seems to be a link between life and reality.

It is an amazing experience to browse through the rocky coral reefs, and watch the sea's creatures blend into their surrounding. This makes them appear as part of scenery rather than actual living creatures. It is not less than a fantasy world. Many people just fancy the amazing world present underwater, while very few muster up the courage to go for scuba diving, and watch the beautiful scenery come to life. If you never took the chance to go for scuba diving, you might have missed on the exuberant display of colors by the lively creatures present underwater. If you fancy that world, then trust your instincts, as there is no better adventure than that in the underwater world.

If you have made up your mind to enjoy this thrilling experience, and you are ready with your boat, then you just need to find your drop off destination. Tropical water is just mesmerizing; it has a warm temperature that is very inviting. In that water, you will find bright and intriguing colors of creatures and scenery. The best part is that even the color of the water is a perfect shade of blue. This can be an ideal place for scuba diving and the divers there are ever-ready to splash into the water and discover the wonder world of fishes, coral reefs and other fascinating creatures.

With scuba diving, you can have an experience of a lifetime. Where else can you find a group of dolphins or whales in their natural habitat? It seems most unlikely even if you are on a sea voyage. Just imagine how breathtaking it would be to ride on the back of a dolphin; it is not something you will find everyday. You might also never forget the pod of whales jumping out of the sea and performing great acrobats.

Learning about these extraordinary sea creatures is an amazing experience altogether. It might interest you to know that the behavior of whales matches quite closely with that of humans. In reality, scuba diving also gives us a chance to know ourselves through the creatures that apparently look different from us. This bit of information is scientifically proven.

Even after your underwater trip is over, you would still look back into the water for one last look. You might not be able to take your eyes off the dolphin splashes in the distance. These are really awesome memories that you would wish to captivate in your eyes forever.

Thailand - Travel in Pai

Ever thought about traveling to Southeast Asia? Well, Thailand is the obvious place to start. Bangkok might as well be a bus station because in order to get to all the wonderful places in that part of the world, you will undoubtedly end up there at one point or another. It doesn't matter what you decide to do, whether to take a slow boat down the Mekong in Laos, go to Angkor Wat in Cambodia or see the Petronas towers of Malaysia, you will be hard-pressed to avoid the hustle and bustle of Bangkok!

That said, Thailand has lots of little nooks and crannies that will make you very sad if you missed them! One of the most amazing of these little towns for me was Pai! Pai is located in Northern Thailand, close to the border of Burma (Myanmar). Don't worry about all the crazy things you heard about Burma as Pai is completely isolated. This quaint little town is in the mountains and it's unlike any place I have ever seen. The entire population measures about 3,000 residents and most of them are expats. The center of town is only 3 streets filled with bars, clubs and restaurants ranging from decadent opulence to the streetside peddlers. And patrons of these establishments vary from Thai vacationers to travelers of all ages from around the world. Should you choose to stay there a week you will feel like you know everyone! In fact, after 5 days, you'll spot the starry-eyed newcomers as if you'd been there for years.

As most small towns go, this one is very different! People who go there for a few days, usually end up overstaying their initial plan. As small as this town is, there is a plethora of things to do and that is the magic of this enchanted little mountain town. A scooter should cost you no more than 80 bhat ($3 US) per day so renting one and exploring the area is an absolute must. Within a 20 minute ride, the magic will be at your fingertips. Picturesque waterfalls, rejuvenating hot springs, ancient temples and an elephant park are just a few of the many escapes to indulge in during your stay.

As small as this town may seem at first, the sheer volume of entertainment is mind-blowing! Hip little bars are found in places you never could imagine! You have poi-spinning dancers as entertainment, while the ultra-cool decor will draw you to others. If live music is your thing, there is an amazing jazz bar with live performances nightly that are actually really good! If you're lucky and a bit savvy, you'll find bars that are so hidden that only someone special will be able take you there. This is a place that will capture your imagination and surprise you every moment that you are lucky enough to spend there.

In short, the experience I had in Pai change my entire trip to Southeast Asia! I initially planned on staying for no more than a couple of days. But when I finally returned the motorbike, I was shocked to see the bill. I lost all track of time and spent close to a month there. But having made several great friends, I ended up traveling with them through Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and saw other people I met in Pai in every one of those countries. I don't regret a single minute of the time I spent there! And should you decide to go there, I guarantee you will feel the same way! Happy travels my friends!

China Business Travel

The Chinese dragon has not only woken up but is also moving aggressively to dominate the world business economy. With its annual GDP growth exceeding 9%, China has suddenly become the business destination of the mighty and rich multinational business corporations. China offers great business opportunities to a large variety of businessmen and therefore business travel to China is a must for every business executive.

Although China offers great business promise, there are certain factors you need to keep in mind before planning a business trip to China. While traveling through China, you may have to face the language barrier in communicating with the Chinese - starting with the cab driver to the hotel manager and ending up with your counterparts in your business. English, though the lingua franca of the world, is usually neither spoken nor understood in China.

Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai and Guangzhou are the main business destinations - besides numberless other smaller places. It is therefore advisable to contact a travel agency that specializes in China tours in these cities, and book a suitable hotel for you as per your budget.

The first important item to deal with is the language problems. For that you need an English-speaking guide as soon as you land in China. You should make sure that your travel agency provides you an English speaking cab driver who will be the first man to meet you as you step out of the airport. A non-speaker of Chinese cannot move about China without a guide. Therefore you need a guide who has thorough knowledge of the topography of the area you are visiting and can fluently communicate with you in English. You must ensure that the guide you get is professionally trained and certified by the China Travel Administration.

Two more pointers: first, protect your credit card from fraudulent activity, which is widely prevalent in China. Second, you must be aware that you cannot drive a car in China even if you are a licensed driver in your country. So you have to rent a car along with a driver for travel around the city.

Thailand's World

Thailand is a modern democratic Nation in Central South East Asia. '' Thai '' is the Tai word for '' free ''. The '' Thai '' identity was formed in the late 13 th C at Sukhothai and is not to be confused with '' Tai '' the name of the ethnic groups of people who migrated from Yunnan in the 12th & 13th Centuries. The character of the Thai Nation today and of its people can only be appreciated by exploring its 2000 years of recorded history and the cultures of the various peoples who live here. Thailand's natural landscape includes tropical wet evergreen forests in Southern Thailand to temperate deciduous forests in North Thailand and we explore these in the Thailand National Parks. Thailand art architecture and decorative objects need to be considered with regard to the influences of religion, mythological beliefs and regional artistic styles. Thailand is so large and diverse we detail all about Thailand in separate regions, North or Northern Thailand, South or Southern Thailand, Central Thailand and North East Thailand [ I 'san ].

North Thailand Travel & Places Of Interest

The Thailand Government defines North Thailand as consisting of both [ 1 ] the 84,000 square kilometres comprising 8 provinces of Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Lampang, Lamphun, Phrae and Mae Hong Son, which area originally comprised the Lan Na principalities detailed in the North Thailand History link [ the Upper North ], and [ 2 ] the 86,000 square kilometres of the Lower North, comprising the provinces of Kamphaeng Phet, Tak, Sukhothai, Uttaradit, Uthai Thani, Nakhon Sawan, Phichit Phitsanulok and Phetchabun, which area originally comprised the Kingdoms of Sukhothai and later the northern parts of the Kingdom of Ayutthaya, Thon Buri and Bangkok Kingdoms.

The Differences Between The Upper North Thailand And The Lower North Thailand

One discernable difference between the Upper and Lower North Thailand is topography. Upper North Thailand is characterised by long valleys generally running north south. The climate has three seasons, hot [ April to May ] cool and rain [ July to September ]. Approximately 72% of the area is mountainous, 21% upland and 8% lowland. The lowland is cultivated by the Tai people to produce wet rice.

Lower North Thailand has 45% of its total land mass less than 150 metres above sea level and is thus similar to Thailand's Central region. However the two mountain extensions of the Upper North, [ 1 ] Thanon Thang Chai Range to the west and, [ 2 ] Petchabun Range to the east attract an extension of swidden hill tribe communities as in the Upper North, all part of the exodus from China of these ethnic minorities over the past hundreds of years. The geographic differences in topography need to be appreciated as the ethnic, sociological and cultural differences are essentially between lowlanders and highlanders [ Hill tribes ]. These classifications and detailed explanations are discussed in North Thailand People .

About Central Thailand

Central Thailand is situated on the central plains of the Chao Phraya River and the Meklong River valley. The first substantial civilisation here was that of the Mon people and during the 6th - 9th C its Buddhist Kingdom was referred to in chinese records and on silver coins as '' Dvaravati ''. Influences from India when merged with Mon characteristics formed the basis of religion, art, architecture and public administration.

About South Thailand

South Thailand comprises the Southern Peninsula with the Andaman Sea to the West and the Gulf of Siam to the East. It is a mountainous region and the Phuket Mountain Range is the most important on the West from Chumphon to Krabi and to the East is the Nakhon Si Thammarat Mountain Range from Surat Thani to Satun. Between these ranges are the plains and limestone hills and to the South the Sannkalakhiri Mountains which divide Malaysia and Thailand.

Koh Samui Thailand - Travel Destination

Koh Samui is easily reached from Bangkok, Thailand's main transport hub, by plane or bus / ferry combination. Other domestic destinations and even Malaysia can be reached from here as well. Should you travel by land, Surat thani Town, Don Sak or Chumporn are the ferry ports to reach the island.

Even due to all the development going on in recent years, the island still has its green stretches and also exports around seventy tons of coconuts per month, mostly to Bangkok.

Having started off as backpacker destination in the early 80's, Samui offers now something for everybody. From a beach bungalow to a high tech villa. A speed garage spring break in stylish bars and venues, one made completely from ice, or a chilled family holiday with some yoga recreation. The size of Samui, and its countless bays make it possible.

Or you are even thinking about renting a house. Should you stay more than one month it can save you a great deal of money. You can rent any style of house between 80 $ and 8000 $ a month. Most of them will have air conditioning included and feature some furniture or a kitchen. Huge Retailers like Makro(TM), BigC(TM) or TESCO(TM) make your daily shopping easier.

Getting around is easy as regular bus and taxi services connect all major towns and beaches. Private air conditioned and metered taxis can be hired for a slightly higher share. For single travelers a motorbike taxi will be the cheapest way to get around.

Samui offers a lot of spare time activities. Mountain trails, waterfalls or tours to the Ang Thong National Marine Park for the nature lovers. Golf & Shooting Ranches, Water parks and Go karts for the holiday junkie. And Fine Dining Restaurants, Tennis Tournaments and sailing cruises for high flyers. A lot of western managed diving schools will happily take care of your water sports needs. And a trip around the island may discover some fun activities such as football golf or guppy fishing. There is plenty to do for everybody.

Speedboat transfers to the world famous Full Moon Party on the sister island of Koh Phangan are easily available at every travel agency.

Please note that Koh Samui is part of the Surt thani province. One of fifteen provinces in Thailand where the wearing of a helmet whilst operating a motorcycle is required. The legal fine for offenders varies between 300 and 500 Thai Baht (7-12$). If you never have driven a motorcycle before, then Koh Samui is not the place to learn it.

Have a nice holiday and enjoy the land of smile.

Discount Travel For Thailand on a Budget

Many people arriving in Thailand are doing so as part of a world tour, and this will be just one stop on their journey. They will often be trying to budget their money and the great news is that there is plenty of opportunity for discount travel. Thailand is a relatively cheap country if you are prepared to eat local food and don't party too hard. If you know where to look, you will also see opportunities to receive discounts on many activities and trips.

The first place you will need to look for discounts is in the free local tourist magazines. These are available in almost all of the popular locations. They not only provide a useful guide to whatever area you are staying with maps and places to see, but they almost always are full of vouchers and special offers. If you want to party on a budget you will find all the places that offer happy hours, or other discounted drinks. You can also find special deals on meals and all the prominent tourist attractions. In places like Pattaya you can get special deals which mean that you can visit a few of the local attractions for at a cheaper rate as part of a package.

If you know how to haggle then you can really get things cheaper in Thailand. Be warned though, it is only really appropriate to haggle in markets where the prices are not in display. If you go into your local Tesco Supermarket and try to haggle they might call security. The night market in Chiang Mai is a great place to haggle and get a discount. Here you will find plenty of local crafts and souvenirs. It is possible to bargain sellers down to up to fifty percent of the original asking price.

If you are looking for discount flights and tours then the place to go to is the Khao San Road in Bangkok. This is the most popular tourist are in the city and is full of travel agencies all competing for your business for tours within Thailand and elsewhere in the region. If you have the time to shop around you will find some great bargains so don't accept the first price that you are offered.

These days the best place for bargains for Thailand and elsewhere in the world is on the internet. Hotels and even guest houses will offer a special discounted rate if you book online. You will also find that the cheapest flight deals are available online. If you arrive in a tourist area it is often advisable to book your room from a local internet cafe rather than the hotel itself.

If you are travelling the world on a budget then you will find that your money can go a lot further in Thailand. It is actually possible to spend relatively little money, but still have a great time. On some of the islands it is possible to live on as little as a few US dollars a day.

What to Do in Trang - Far South West Thailand

At first glance, you'd probably think the sleepy town of Muang Trang, or Trang, in far south west Thailand, is just full of rubber trees and not much else. But you'd be mistaken, because there's a lot of magic in this little Thai town, as you're about to discover.

But just to clarify, Trang has got a few rubber plantations. Well, actually, more than a few. More like as far as the eye can see, along with millions of looming palm oil trees too. But that's a story for another day. Let's talk about why Trang is a quite possibly an undiscovered paradise.

Firstly, Trang is so off the radar that not many tourists or travelers get there. And if they do, usually they're just passing through on their way to get some island snorkeling in and catch some laid back beach sun. However this is possibly what makes this Portuguese/Chinese influenced town so different.

With no real 'tourist' stuff such as you might find in nearby Phuket, Trang is as normal a Thai city as you'd ever get. Peek outside around 6 am and you'd see breakfast time is bustling and busy, monks doing their daily walking rounds, and a whole lot of folks on their way back from milking the heck out of those endless rubber trees.

About 30 minutes outside the town you're confronted with rock scattered waterfalls winding their way down the mountains, huge underground caves that seem to go on forever, and the occasional fluorescent green rice field. Go the other way and it's all beach. Maybe not the perfect white sand beaches you'd imagine, but still swimmable and great for exploring.

So, although it looks smallish on the map, Trang has its share of delights and a few big secrets too. Of course, the best way to get a feel for it is to go there and stay for a week or two. That way you'll know exactly what I'm talking about!

Discover Thailand - Travel Itineraries and Tips For Thailand

Thailand is the most visited tourist destination of Southeast Asia, with a tropical climate, breathtaking natural beauty, inspiring temples, great beaches and superb cuisine. Even inexperienced travelers can travel independently in Thailand, as long as they don't travel too far off the beaten track. Adventurous travelers could head almost anywhere without too much difficulty. The itinerary below will give first-time visitors a whirlwind tour of the country:

Day 1 - Arrive in Bangkok.

Day 2 - Bangkok.

Day 3 - Day trip to Ayutthaya to see the historic ruined temples; or for nature lovers, a trip to Khao Yai National Park. Return in the evening.

Days 4-6 - Fly from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and explore the northern provincial capital and surrounding area.

Day 7 - Fly directly south to Koh Samui or Phuket.

Days 8-9 - Enjoy the beach life for a couple of days.

Day 10- Return to Bangkok and depart Thailand.

If you are particularly interested in ruins, make a loop north and northeast from Bangkok and see all of the best ruins in about 5 days using a rented car with driver (or in a week if you're taking trains and buses). A nice route is Bangkok-Ayutthaya-Lop Buri-Sukhothai-Udon Thani-Phimai-Bangkok.

Whatever itinerary you choose, you will likely pass through Bangkok more than once-the best ruins are north and northeast of the capital, the best trekking is northwest and the islands are all south of Bangkok to the east and west. Nearby beaches can be reached within three to four hours from Bangkok by bus; the large island beaches such as Koh Samui and Phuket are an hour away by plane.

Thailand Travel - November Events

November is one of the busiest months when it comes to vacationing in Thailand. It's the holiday season and people want to travel. There are many fun events and festivals planned, and budgets are able to stretch farther in this region.

Annual events held each November include The Monkey Party. The event is described as "comical" and you can see videos of the event for yourself on video sharing sites such as YouTube. The monkeys that roam the area of Lopburi feast on a wide buffet of foods set out while TV crews scatter about trying to get the best views. If you visit this event you could even end up on TV!

Those that enjoy marathons can enjoy watching, or even participate, in The Standard Charter Bangkok Marathon in November. This marathon has over 50,000 a year that participate in the 42 km running course. The course leads them through historical districts and past city landmarks.

Another November festival is the River Kwai Bridge in the Mueang District that runs through December. The famous River Kwai Bridge was built by Allied POWs in World War II. Events include historical and archaeological exhibits, a carnival, historical and cultural performances, WW II vintage train rides, and a stunning light and sound reenactment.

November also hosts the 24th Annual Flower Show at Swissotel Nai Lert Park, Bangkok, as well as the Surin Elephant Roundup and Red Cross Fair. Kids will enjoy the elephants putting on an animal "talent show". 250+ elephants perform at the Surin Elephant Show Stadium. This show does have an admission fee.

The Loi Krathong Sai Festival at the banks of Ping River is quite the sight to see. When the sun goes down see floating coconut-shell and illuminated lanterns floating in the water. There will also be lots of food, fireworks, and entertainment appropriate for the whole family.

If you are planning a trip to Thailand November is a great month to visit. These are just a few of the many events scheduled for this November. Families can enjoy a fun vacation packed with festivities even on a tight budget.

Cheap Holidays in Pattaya, Thailand

Thailand is a big country. It is a very popular tourist destination and was, until quite recently, number three in the world. It probably will be again. Bangkok and Phuket are generally quite pricey and to be honest Pattaya can be too. How expensive a holiday is, is dependent on choices. The number of choices open to you is dependent on pre-planning.

Book your flight today to fly tomorrow and it will cost you an arm and a leg. Unless of course you are very very lucky and grab a fantastic last minute deal. Book two, three, four months ahead and the price will be so much lower. The further you book in advance the more airlines are available for you to make your choice from. If time is not too much of an issue you could country hop and utilise two or three airlines.

You should where possible choose the 'off season' to visit. This again will multiply your choices of hotels and give you much better deals. There is little difference in the weather in 'high season' or 'off season' in Pattaya. There is certainly as much to do. If it does rain then the rain is usually of short duration and to be honest a bit of a relief.

Now you could book your hotel in advance and in fact I advise you do but book it for just three days even if it is your intention to stop for a few weeks. If you are in the off season there will be no problem extending your stay. On the other hand you have three days to look round and book into somewhere better. There are always fantastic deals for those who shop around. The internet is all very well but it is a maze off agents waiting to skim their little bit off the top.

Pattaya is great for food. The International cuisine on offer is nothing short of amazing. Prices too are generally much lower than in Europe. In Europe Thai food is expensive, in Thailand it is cheap. Not just cheap but delicious. Here it is cooked by the experts and using local produce. If you are going to eat Thai food then forget the big fancy restaurants and those near the main tourist drag. Head up the side Soi's (roads) and here you will find the best of the best. You can eat very well for a dollar.

Don't use taxis to get about. The Sang Thaew or Baht Bus is very easy to use and extremely cheap. There is practically nowhere you cannot get to in the city in two or three hops. Alternatively use a 'motorci' (motorbike taxi). It will cost a fraction more but get you to wherever you are going in a trice.

Pattaya has an abundance of cinemas, bowling alleys, zoos, beaches, islands, shopping, golf, health spa's and so much more to keep anybody happy during the day. At night the city comes alive. This is the party capital of the world, and you can afford it
